Douglas Kaluhiokalani is an accomplished cybersecurity executive, educator, and combat-decorated U.S. Air Force veteran with more than 17 years of experience protecting organizations across finance, manufacturing, and defense. His leadership spans CISO and Director-level roles, with achievements including transforming a bank’s entire security environment to achieve a 75% threat reduction and directing a $250 million OT/SCADA security program across 28 sites. As a NATO CCDCOE Senior Advisor, he led a 265-person Blue Team representing 40 countries and served as Senior Technical Advisor for the U.S. Blue Team during NATO Locked Shields.

Combining executive strategy with hands-on technical expertise, Doug specializes in threat hunting, incident response, advanced red teaming, adversary emulation, and security architecture. Through CourseStack and CyberRST, he teaches cybersecurity from introductory through advanced levels, including ethical hacking, SOC fundamentals, network security, and governance, risk, and compliance. His educational contributions also include Level Effect presentations on adversary emulation, dark web threats, nation-state APTs, and ethical hacking.

Doug is the published author of “The Evolving Threat: Iranian and Nation-State APT Cyber Operations — Present and Future” in United States Cybersecurity Magazine and was selected as a 2026 AttackIQ Academy Champion for excellence in cybersecurity. He brings operational experience, multinational leadership, and a practitioner’s perspective to developing cybersecurity professionals and strengthening organizational defenses.
